Bedford Truck QLB, Light Anti Aircraft Regiment, 12 Corps, Germany, 1945, 1:76, Oxford
The Bedford QLB was a military version of the Bedford QL, designed as a Bofors Gun tractor, of which some 5,500 units were produced. The British government had commissioned Bedford to produce a 3-ton 4x4 general service truck specifically for military use in World War II. The result was the GL and the production lasted from 1941 to 1945 with several variants designed for deployment in various fields of activity.
This QLB model is the one used by the Light Anti Aircraft Regiment, 12 Corps, which was deployed in occupied Germany since mid-1945. The model is presented with an olive body, wheels and chassis with olive interior and black gray fenders . The camouflage scheme outside is black gray and dark green with white military markings. Notice the white star, with and without a circle that was used in allied military vehicles after the Normandy Landings in 1944. Here you see it on the roof of the cabin and on the sides of the body.
