Su-27 Flanker B B388, pilot Viktor Pugachev, Paris le Bourget, 1989, 1:72, Hobby Master
In 1989 the Soviets presented their new Sukhoi Su-27 at the Paris Air Show. Two variants of the aircraft were exhibited, the Su-27 Flanker B Blue 388 and the Su-27UB Blue 389. The Blue 388 was given the Sukhoi number T10-41, but for the Paris show, 41 was painted with the new number 388. The test pilot Viktor Pugachev demonstrated a maneuver called Cobra that would later be called "Cobra de Pugachev". The fighter, flying at a moderate speed, suddenly raises the nose to the vertical position before falling until it returns to normal flight. Use engine power to keep altitude constant during motion.
