Helicopter UH-1J Iroquois (Huey), Land Self-defense Forces of Japan, 1: 100, DeAgostini
The Bell UH-1 Iroquois (Huey) is a military helicopter powered by a single-shaft engine with rotors and two-blade tail rotor. The helicopter was developed by Bell Helicopter to meet the requirements of the United States Army for an evacuation helicopter and medical utility in 1952. It flew for the first time on October 20, 1956. More than 16,000 units have been built. The first combat operation of the UH-1 was in the service of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. The original designation of HU-1 led to the nickname of Huey's helicopter. In September 1962, the designation was changed to UH-1, but "Huey" remained in common use. Approximately 7,000 UH-1 entered service in Vietnam.
