HMS Hood Cruise, Royal Navy, Battle of Denmark, 1941, 1: 700, Forces of Valor
The HMS Hood was the last battle cruiser built for the Royal Navy. Commissioned in 1920, Hood was baptized in honor of Admiral Samuel Hood, an 18th-century sailor. One of four Admiral-class battle cruisers ordered in mid-1916, Hood had design limitations, although this was revised after the Battle of Jutland and was improved while it was under construction. For this reason this was the only ship in its class that was finished being built. Despite the emergence of new and more modern boat designs over time, Hood remained the largest and most powerful warship in the world for 20 years after its commissioning, and its prestige was reflected in its nickname , "The Mighty Hood".
