Battle Cruiser Goeben, Kaiserliche Marine, 1912, 1: 1250, DeAgostini
The SMS Goeben was a Moltke-class battle cruiser of the German Imperial Navy, launched in 1911 under the name of the General Franco-Prussian War August Karl von Goeben. In August 1914, the Goeben was transferred to the Ottoman Empire, renamed TCG Yavuz Sultan Selim and made the flagship of the Ottoman Navy. In 1936 it was renamed as TCG Yavuz and continued as a flagship until 1950. The ship was scrapped in 1973; It was the last ship of the German Imperial Navy to disappear when the German government refused an offer to keep it as a museum ship. The Goeben / Yavuz is considered the monocaliber with the longest active service period, close to fifty years, until its demise in 1960.
