Battle Cruiser Moltke, Kaiserliche Marine, 1911, 1: 1250, DeAgostini
The SMS Moltke was a battle cruiser of the Moltke class of the German Imperial Navy, which received its name in memory of the German general Helmuth von Moltke. The ship was the second battle cruiser of the Imperial Navy, and was discharged on September 30, 1911. The ship participated in some of the main naval actions of the German Hochseeflotte (High Seas Fleet) during the First World War , including the Battle of Jutland in 1916. The Moltke met its end, along with the rest of the surviving German battlecruisers at the end of the war, when it was scuttled by its crew along with the rest of the ships of the High Fleet. Sea in Scapa Flow in 1919 during his internment after the Armistice.

Returns
