HISTORY
The Mikasa (三 笠?) Was a pre-dreadnought battleship built in the Vickers shipyards of Barrow-in-Furness under Japanese specifications and enabled for service in March 1902.
The Mikasa turned out to be among the best warships in the world, as demonstrated in the Russo-Japanese War. He participated in the campaign of Port Arthur in 1904 and the Battle of Tsushima on May 27, 1905, being the flagship of Admiral Tōgō Heihachirō. It was sunk by an internal explosion, after which it was refloated. Today it is a historical monument in the military port of Yokosuka as a museum ship.
