Boeing E-767, Early Warning aircraft, JASDF, Japan, 1: 250, Planet DeAgostini
The Boeing E-767 is a low-wing twin-engine jet aircraft manufactured by the US company Boeing for the performance of early warning and airborne control missions (AWACS). The design of the E-767 responds to the requirements of the Japan Self-Defense Air Force, which was looking for the characteristics of the Boeing E-3 Sentry systems, installed on the Boeing 767-200 passenger plane.
The first two units delivered to the Japanese Self-Defense Air Force were received by this on March 11, 1998, having to wait until January 5, 1999 to receive the remaining two. On May 10, 2000, the four E-767 became part of the 601 Squadron belonging to the Early Air Alert Group (AEWG), which operates from the Hamamatsu Air Base.
