Frigate F123 Brandenburg class # F215, Deutsche Marine, 1995, 1: 1250, DeAgostini
Brandenburg class F123 frigates are a series of four warships currently in service in the German Navy. They were ordered in June of 1989, being discharged between 1994 and 1996 in replacement of the Hamburg class destroyers. Initially, these frigates mainly carried out antisubmarine fighting tasks, but they also contributed to air defense as command ships and in surface operations. At present, the F123 class frigates are in the modernization phase within the framework of the Fähigkeitsanpassung FüWES (FAF) project. The first teams to be improved in this program are those of the combat system, for which a version of the TACTICOS system of the Dutch firm Thales will be used. The secondary radar will also be upgraded to an EADS IFF MSSR 2000 I model and the data transmission system will be upgraded to Link 16.
