The Leopard 2 is a combat car developed in Germany in the early 1970s by Krauss-Maffei-Wegmann. It entered service for the first time in 1979, replacing the Leopard 1 in its function of main battle car in the German Army. After successive updates and improvements, its most modern version is the A7 + and is at the level of the best and most advanced armored combat vehicles in the world. In total more than 3480 Leopard 2 have been manufactured. They are currently used by Germany and their different versions are in service in twelve other European countries and in several countries outside Europe. He entered into combat for the first time in Kosovo with the German Army, in addition to being employed in Afghanistan with the Danish and Canadian ISAF, and by the Turkish Army in the Syrian Civil War.
