Hanomag SdKfz 251/1, Armored Half-track, Germany, 1939/45, 1:43, Atlas
The Sd.Kfz.234 (Sonderkraftfahrzeug 234) was an armored combat vehicle produced by in Germany and used during the Second World War. The 8 Rad series of armored vehicles had bidirectional driving, and the improved 8 Rad had a more powerful engine than the previous version. During the combat, a member of the crew occupied the rear driving position, ready to backtrack from an enemy point sighted at full forward speed. The steering of the 8 wheels and the little pressure that the vehicle exerted on the ground made it very popular among the crews that served in the difficult terrain and the extreme weather of the Eastern Front. The Puma version is considered the best of its kind, it was installed the turret designed for the ill-fated Leopard light tank. The gun that was carrying was a 5cm Kwk 39 L / 60 high speed (ROF9), ideal against light armor and identical in performance to the anti-tank gun Pack38, being able to penetrate in 55 mm of armor to 250 m. This weapon gave him enough firepower to deal with almost all enemy reconnaissance vehicles he encountered. Only 100 units were manufactured.
